Course & Training Terms

The terms for our courses and training, including Build With AI, Business Training, Team Training, Product Training, Devute Academy and the Operations Audit. They cover booking, access, materials, certificates and what happens if plans change.

1. About these terms

These terms are between you and Devute Ltd (previously named Devute UK Ltd), a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 14301159. Our registered office is 53 Leafield Avenue, Bradford, England, BD2 3SE. They apply to our courses and training: Build With AI, Business Training, Team Training, Product Training, the Devute Academy membership and the Operations Audit.

“You” means the person or organisation booking. Where an organisation books places for its staff, “learner” means each person attending. The organisation is responsible for making sure its learners follow these terms.

These terms sit alongside our Refund & Cancellation Policy. For Team Training and other business bookings, our Terms of Business also apply. If a course page or your booking confirmation states something specific to that course, it applies to that course.

2. Booking and payment

  • Reserving a place. For live courses such as Build With AI, reserving a place does not take payment. We call you first, normally within one working day, and your place is only confirmed once we both agree the course is a good fit.
  • When the contract starts. The contract starts when we confirm your booking in writing and you pay, or when we issue an invoice that you accept.
  • Payment. Individual places must be paid in full before the course starts, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Devute Academy is a monthly membership billed at the start of each month.
  • Prices. The price is the one shown in your booking confirmation. We are not currently registered for VAT. If we become VAT registered, VAT will be added at the prevailing rate and shown on your quote and invoice.
  • Product Training is included with a licence for NexeLead, the CRM, the ERP or Legal CRM, as described in your licence or quote. The Operations Audit is free.

3. Places, minimum numbers and changes to dates

Live courses have a set number of places; for example, Build With AI is capped at 20. Places are confirmed in the order bookings are completed.

Some courses need a minimum number of learners to run well. If a course does not reach that number, or if we need to change a date for reasons such as trainer illness, we may reschedule or cancel it. We will tell you as early as we can. You can then choose to move to the new date or receive a full refund of what you paid for that course. We are not responsible for travel or other costs you have arranged, so please take that into account before booking non-refundable travel.

We may make reasonable changes to course content, sessions or trainers, as long as the course remains substantially as described.

4. Access to self-paced and online content

  • When you buy self-paced content or a membership, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to access it for your own learning.
  • Logins are for one person. Please do not share them or let others use your account. We may suspend access if we see an account being shared.
  • Access lasts for the period stated when you buy. For Devute Academy, access continues while your membership is active and ends when the membership ends.
  • We aim to keep platforms available but cannot promise uninterrupted access. If access is unavailable for a significant period through our fault, tell us and we will extend your access or make a fair adjustment.

5. Course materials and intellectual property

We, or our licensors, own the intellectual property in all course materials, including slides, workbooks, takeaway sheets, notes, templates and recordings.

  • You may use the materials for your own learning and in your own business.
  • For Team Training, your organisation may use and share the materials internally with its own staff.
  • You may not resell, republish, or use the materials to run training for others without our written permission.

Anything you build during a course for your own business, such as a system on your own domain, belongs to you. Our templates and tools used to build it stay ours, and we license you to keep using them as part of what you built.

6. Recordings

We may record live online sessions so learners can catch up. Recordings are only shared with people on the same course and are for their own use. Please do not record sessions yourself without our agreement and the agreement of others in the session.

If you would rather not appear in a recording, you can keep your camera off and use the chat. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle recordings.

7. Conduct

Our courses work because people share real examples from their businesses. We ask all learners to:

  • treat trainers and other learners with respect;
  • keep other learners’ business information confidential;
  • not share personal data about customers or staff in sessions unless it has been anonymised;
  • use group chats and community spaces for the course only, and not for unsolicited selling.

If a learner seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, we may remove them from the course or membership. In that case we will refund any part of the fee for sessions they cannot attend, unless the behaviour was abusive or unlawful.

8. Certificates of completion

Some courses, including Build With AI, end with a certificate of completion. It confirms that you took part in the course. It is not an accredited or regulated qualification unless the course page clearly says so.

9. Outcomes

We design our courses so that you finish with something useful, and we will be honest if we think a course is the wrong fit. But results depend on your business, your time and how you apply what you learn, so we cannot guarantee any particular outcome, saving or income.

The systems you build on our courses are suitable for internal use. You are responsible for checking that anything you build is right for your business and meets your own legal obligations, such as data protection, before you rely on it.

10. Cancellations and refunds

In short: pre-recorded courses can be refunded in full if you ask within 15 days of purchase. Live courses are not refundable once booked, but you can send a substitute learner if you tell us before the start, and you get a full refund if we cancel. Consumers keep the 14-day cancellation right the law gives them. You can cancel a Devute Academy membership any time, effective from the end of the period you have paid for.

The full rules are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

11. Corporate and Team Training

Team Training is run in-house for one organisation and quoted per day. Bookings are made on a written quote and invoiced under our Terms of Business, including payment terms and cancellation charges set out in the quote.

Your organisation is responsible for providing suitable access, rooms or video links, and for making sure attendees can take part. Where you share your own processes or data for use as examples, you confirm you are allowed to do so, and we treat that information as confidential.

12. Your data

We use learners’ personal data to run courses, provide access, issue certificates and keep in touch about the course. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full. Where we process personal data on behalf of an organisation booking Team Training, our Data Processing Agreement applies.

13. Our responsibility to you

We will provide courses with reasonable care and skill. If you are a consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects them. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

For business customers, our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Business.

14. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of your local law and can bring proceedings in your local courts.
